Holiday Traditions!

Happy 12-12-12!

I don't know about you, but I am READY for the holidays to be here. Okay, so I might still have some shopping to do. And I might have to face the fact that I should clean the oven before I attempt to cook a proper Christmas dinner...

But I'm ready for the warm fuzzies, happy faces, and general 'glow' of the season NOW.

My house is full of Grinches. They don't mean to be - it's not their fault that they have to endure benchmark tests, projects, 5 am flights, and cranky coworkers while I get to write from home, spending time with the most delightful people that I can create from thin air. I know they want to be giddy with holiday spirit - but 'stuff' is getting in the way.

This weekend, I'm pulling out the big guns - Holiday Style.

Which means a lot of cooking:

Gingerbread Baking - and Gingerbread House decorating

Buckeyes - yummy peanut butter and powdered sugar dipped in melted chocolate! YUM!!!

Shrimp Rolls - not sure where this came from but we have them every year!

Sugar Cookies

Watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

AND playing board games.

Basically - it's removing all technological devices (phones, computers, TV - with the exception of said Rudolph watching, and ipods) in the hopes that we'll all 'see' each other and embrace the 'magic' of having such an awesome family to share this wonderful holiday season with! That's the plan anyway - *crossing fingers*

How goes it in your house? Have you decked the tree? Lit the house up with brilliant sparkly lights? What do you do to help get the holiday spirit bright?

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! If you're interested in recipes, let me know and I'll post them :)

Oh - if you're still looking for gifties for the readers in your life - I just happen to have two new releases out last week!

An anthology through Carina Press (or you can order my novella, Galileo's Holiday separately) and Red Carpet Series, Book 2. Both will keep you warm through the chilly winter nights. :)
