I have another delicious treat for y'all this week.
I'd like to introduce my guest author, Minx Malone!
Minx (I love that name!) is gonna be sharing how she "cast" her characters for her hot new release, Asking For Andre.
So settle back and enjoy the eye-candy *g*
And don't forget to check out the excerpt links at the end of this post!
Cheers

If Books Were Like Movies… By Minx Malone
Thanks Maree for allowing me to hijack your Thursday post : )
As I was looking over my notes for my last book trying desperately to come up with a cool, interesting--or at least not totally boring--idea for a guest post, my mind went completely blank. Everyone always blogs about the same things, what their story is about, whether they’re a pantser or a plotter and how they get their ideas.
But the one thing I usually never hear anything about it how authors figure out what their characters look like.
Now, perhaps I’m just strange (a fact I am willing to concede) but imagining what my characters look like is one of the best parts of the creative process. So I’d love to share with you how I do it.
Here’s a sneak peek of my “Casting Call” for the characters of my new Ellora’s Cave release “Asking for Andre”.
"Asking For Andre" CASTING CALL
Setting: Modern day Washington, D.C.
Hero – Andre Lavin
Italian designer and owner of LaVin Couture
Heroine – Cassandra “Casey” Michaels”
Receptionist at Mirage Advertising Agency
Recurring characters:
Mya Taylor - (V.P. of Advertising)
Heroine of Beg For It, in love with Milo Hamilton
Milo Hamilton (V.P. of Advertising)
Hero of Beg For It, in love with Mya Taylor
James Lawson (Owner of The Mirage Agency)
Anya Petrova (Casey’s best friend)
Harold (jerk who works in Accounting)
Setting: Modern day Washington, D.C.
Hero – Andre Lavin

Since Asking for Andre is the sequel to the book Beg For It, I already had the characters of Mya and Milo “cast” in my head. But just for kicks I went a step further and actually chose actors to portray them.

Mya Taylor - (V.P. of Advertising)

Thanks for letting me hang out with you and share a quirky, fun part of my creative process. I’m usually hanging out at The Naughty Girls Next Door Blog so come on by to see what else I’m up to!

I like knowing the author's inspiration for the characters. Is that Raoul Bova?
Hi Jane,
That certainly is Raoul Bova and he was quite an inspiration when I was writing Beg For It! I adore him :)
Oh yum, McSteamy as the add agency owner - I can see it, and endorse it! ;-)
Hahaha - Gail can you tell I'm a fan of the mancandy on Grey's Anatomy?
"Law" is the hero of the next book in the series and he's shaping up to be a dirty boy :)
Did i hear someone mention McSteamy??? :) great post, and what a delightful approach to bringing a story to life!
Thanks Liane!
It's one of the best parts especially since I get to drool over pictures of hotties and call it "work". Gotta love it!
Okay, first off, Minx Malone is an awesome name. Awesome, I say. And I love the excerpt from Asking For Andre. Few things make my Kindle buttons hotter than a dominant alpha male putting the moves on his woman. Yum! Thanks for coming by!
Hi Kaylea,
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked the excerpt for the book. There's possibly going to be a fun freebie about these characters coming soon too. They were hard to let go of.
I've just arrived back from our RWNZ conference, and checked in, so.... Thank you ladies, for making Minx so welcome! And Minx, thanks for the hugely entertaining post, and I hope you had fun being an honorary Wild Woman -- you certainly fit right in here on Writers Gone Wild *VBG*
Just an update, there is now a prequel available called "Casey's Night In" - at The Naughty Girls blog find out how to get it FREE :)>
