Christina Phillips has always loved writing, and while her efforts in eighth grade usually involved space ships, time travel and unfortunate endings, as soon as she discovered romance novels a whole new world opened up. She now writes ancient historical romances about strong heroines and gorgeous warrior heroes who, no matter how torturous the journey, are guaranteed a happy-ever-after. Christina was born in the United Kingdom, but now lives in sunny Western Australia with her real-life hero and their three children.FORBI
He was a master of seduction - but no match for the magical allure of the woman he wanted most...
"It’s satisfying to find a new author whose debut novel is so impressive with attention to detail giving us a glimpse into the life of these Roman legionaries and Celts, but also wrapping it all up in a fantastical and engrossing story to give us a compelling and spellbinding romance. I’m sure I’ll be re-reading Forbidden many times. I highly recommend Forbidden and for these reasons I recommend a Gold Star Award." Aggie Tsirikas, Just Erotic Romance ReviewsCarys knew from the moment she first spied on Maximus in his naked barbarian glory that he was a dangerous Roman centurion - his taut, battle-scarred flesh marking him as a fearless warrior. But her desire for him was as undeniable as it was illicit.
Charged by his emperor to eliminate a clan of powerful Druids in Britain, Maximus never expects his mission to be thwarted by the clan's ethereal princess, Carys, his daring voyeur. Falling under her spell, he doesn't realize her true heritage - until he captures her heart as well as her body.
As Carys's loyalties are twisted, and freedom is no longer her single-minded obsession, an avenging former lover threatens to crush Maximus's people into oblivion. Now Carys and Maximus must overcome the devastation of war and face the ultimate sacrifice if their forbidden love is to survive.

CAPTIVE - Berkley Heat
She is a prisoner of her sworn enemy - and her own desire...
Having lost her faith when Roman invaders destroyed life as she knew it, Morwyn took a vow of celibacy to spite her goddess. But before she can join up with the rebels, she's captured by a Gaul mercenary whose animal charms and chiseled body will test her conviction... and make it harder to kill him.
Bren, pledged to the true Briton king, has spent three years undercover in the Roman Legion. So when his own unit attacks and brutalizes a fiery Celtic beauty, he saves her the only way he can - by claiming her as his prisoner. But unlike his men, Bren would never take the woman by force, no matter how obviously she burns for his touch.
As they near Roman headquarters, Morwyn resolves to honor her vow of celibacy - but if the Gaul were to ravage her, could she be blamed for enjoying his body? With just a hint of seduction, sooner or later the Gaul will succumb to his exquisite captive...
"Christina Phillips weaves an fascinating tale with an intricate setting and powerful characters, intertwining the deep emotional turmoil of guilt, hatred and searing passions in her latest erotic historical romance, CAPTIVE. I loved finding a historical romance that took place somewhere other than England's ballrooms. I've been craving a different setting and Ms. Phillips definitely satisfied that want, with her rich details of the Roman invasion of Britain." Aemelia, Night Owl Reviews, 41/2 Stars Top Pick.
I never say never. As soon as I do I can guarantee within the week I'll immediately go and do it! eg, three years ago I told my CPs I would never write erotic romance because it's too hard. I then wrote an erotic novelette, absolutely loved writing it and it was the first book I sold.
Now when I say I could never do... whatever... they just laugh at me and wait for me to eat my words!!!
When I need inspiration I play Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell. Constantly. So frequently in fact that now even my kids know all the lyrics!
I often have to study, in great detail, photos and movies of Clive Owen, Colin Firth, Henry Cavill and Gerard Butler. I know, it's a huge burden and time suck but it's all in the name of research *sigh*
One of my fave quotes is from Galaxy Quest: Never give up! Never surrender! Another one has always been Don't Get Mad. Get Published.

Christina,
Your covers are glorious. I bought and read Forbidden as soon as you signed up for BPW! Your world is terrific and I love that you've used a time period, the hight of power for the Roman empire, as your backdrop. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hi Jenn! thank you so much for having me here. And I'm thrilled you enjoyed my world of Forbidden! I had so much fun exploring it through the eyes of my Druids and warriors :-)
You had me at naked barbarian glory!!! These blurbs are doing welcome damage to my to be read list!!!
Christina - your stories sound wild and wonderful. I am trapped with my computer in upstairs bedroom while workmen tear apart the bathroom so I amused myself by listening to BAT OUT OF HELL - it IS inspiring! I love it that you use Henry Cavill, Colin Firth as basis for characters - makes me even more eager to read your books!
LOL, Liane! I love the naked barbarian glory bit :-)
Thanks, Ann! BAT OUT OF HELL is awesome. I wore out the original LP (eek! That was a long time ago!), then wore out the CD!
