Things to do Before I'm 30

Yesterday I turned 29 and I have it on very good authority that my thirties will be even better so while I'm still in my twenties, I'd like to wring out one more year of goodness! I like to think I've done a lot of cool stuff like swimming along the Great Barrier Reef, riding a (very tame, lol) elephant, and backpacking through a foreign country, but there are a ton of things I still want to do. Years ago I started a journal of sorts. It's full of random musings, pictures, letters from when hubby was overseas, stuff like that. It's also got a list of things I want to do before I die and I was going to pull it out and see what I've done so far. Sadly it's packed and I'm not digging through a dozen taped boxes to find it. Soooooo, I decided to do a new list. And if I've actually written it down, I'm much more likely to do it. Here are some things I'd like to do before I turn 30. In a year I'm going to check back and see what I've actually done.

1. Learn how to make 3 new dishes from different nationalities other than my own.
2. Visit Scotland.
3. Go Skydiving. Skydiving? Just kidding. I think I'd wet my pants and seriously why would I jump out of a perfectly good plane? No thanks.
3. Work up to biking 20 miles without keeling over.
4. Start taking either a kickboxing or belly dancing class. Something to mix it up.
5. Meet my Canadian CP in person!
6. Go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Since I'll be living semi-close to there by then, I better cross this one off my list!
7. Get another tattoo.

And that's my list! Anyone have anything cool and doable they think would be fun to add? Or do you have a list of your own? Stuff you'd like to do before you die or turn a certain age? Please share!

Great list! I'd like to get back to the UK before I die. We did several days in London and a day trip to Scotland and it was the most fun I've ever had in my life.

In my twenties I got married, bought a house, had two kids, wrote a few books.
For my thirtires I'd like to keep the house from falling apart, not murder the husband or kids (some days it's a toss up) and sell the books.

I'm going to travel during the forties, as well as hit the NY Times bestseller list at least once and then split the atom. All are withing my grasp, I'm sure.

Okay, I'm totally on board for #5 and #2. #3 just cracks me up because that's one of my favorite things to say about skydiving :)

I say go for the tattoo, and belly dance for #4 (though okay, I might be a teensy bit biased) all the way.

What a great list! Mine includes finishing the current series I'm working on, finding a home for it, and then conquering my fear of flying.

Once that happens, I want to go straight to the UK and see everything I can. I've got so much Irish and Scottish ancestry in my family tree that it would be a crime not to visit there at least once before I croak.

Plus, if my American CP can't manage to make it up across the 49th parallel someday soon, then I'll need to make my way down south again :)

I'm jealous you've been there Sasha! And I hope you get to return too :)

Jennifer, I love your list! Split the atom, no problem ;)

Kaylea,I thought of you when I wrote belly dancing. You're my inspiration for that one. Yes, you definitely need to cross that Mason Dixon line! And I have faith you'll conquer your fear of flying!

Most of those sound doable - except skydiving - yikes! I had no idea you'd ridden an elephant!

I keep adding to the list of things to do.
Mostly I want to learn how to surf. In Hawaii.

We definitely must go one day. I loved skydiving and can't wait to do it again. I'm terribly afraid of heights but once I took the plunge, it was the most amazing thing!

Love your list! And being in your 30s is awesome. I think it's when you really know who you are.

Wynter, he was a veerrry tame elephant :)

That's a good one, December! I've actually been to Hawaii but sadly it was the time of year when the North Shore was uber flat. Still got to enjoy watching hotties on the beach though.

I'm impressed Jax! I'm pretty sure someone would have to knock me out and toss me out of the plane ;)

What a great list!

In my teens, my list consisted of "don't die". LOL. It was a crazy time.

I hope you get to do everything that you wrote down.

And um, yeah, no skydiving. I mean, why jump out of a perfectly sound aircraft? Nuh-uh.
